I'm writing as a younger Australian who has worked hard and wants the chance to build a secure future.

Many of us are doing everything we were told would set us up — studying, working, saving — but it feels harder than ever to get ahead. The system today means income earned from the hours we put in at work can be taxed more heavily than income earned from assets. That doesn't reflect the fair go most Australians believe in.

I don't think anyone wants Australia to be set up this way. We don't need radical change — we need to rebalance the system so work is rewarded again, while keeping aspiration and wealth-building alive.

Please support responsible, sustainable reform that gives my generation — and those younger than me — a genuine chance to build the Australian dream.
